Council on College Admission in South Dakota

South Dakota College Fairs
Every year CCASD collaborates with numerous high schools, colleges and other organizations to bring  college fairs to over twenty communities throughout South Dakota. College Fairs offer the opportunity for high school students to explore a variety of post-secondary options.  Admission representatives from Colleges, University and other organizations in South Dakota and surrounding states are all gathered in one place to share information with attendees.  Their goal is to encourage students to learn more about their institution and help them to sort through the qualities they are looking for in their post-secondary plans.

4) Register for StriveScan scanning services at www.strivescan.com

College reps use the StriveScan app on their iPhone, Android, or iPad to scan students' barcodes. Reps can instantly view the student's profile information and take notes right in the app. After the fair, reps export the student data with one click, instantly, to a CSV Excel file. If you have multiple reps attending from the same institution, both can scan from their own phones.

Students Register to attend:

Students attending the fairs go to the registration page at www.StriveFair.com and fill out a quick form on their phone or computer (preferably in advance or at the door). When they sign up, StriveScan sends them a barcode via text message and email. After the fair, students receive an email with a report on all of the colleges and representatives they met along with their contact information. There is no cost for students.

Counselors Role in Student Registration

To make the experience as meaningful as possible, counselors should encourage their students to pre-register before attending a CCASD Fair by directing them to StriveFair.com. Use StriveScan’s registration handouts to assist with student registration!
