The 2023 DACAC Conference will be held at the Deadwood Mountain Grand April 30 - May 2, 2023.

LODGING - Reserve by this Friday, March 17 to secure rooms

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Deadwood Mountain Grand and The Hotel by Gold Dust.

  • In-state (SD residents): $75/night
  • Out-of-State (ND residents): $99/night
  • To reserve the Deadwood Mountain Grand, have attendees call 605-559-0386 and then dial 0 for the reservation desk.
  • To reserve at the Gold Dust, have attendees call 605-559-1400.
  • The blocks are under 'DACAC Annual Convention' and are split into "IN STATE" and "OUT OF STATE",  the attendee will need to verify which block they are wanting to book in.
  • To receive the above rates, you must reserve your lodging by FRIDAY, MARCH 17. After this deadline, any unreserved rooms in the block will be released to the general public and rates are subject to increase.

JUST ANNOUNCED! Keynote Speaker: South Dakota's own Erin Fagnan

Sergeant First Class Erin Fagnan of Rapid City is the first female from South Dakota to attend and graduate from the academy while serving in the South Dakota Army National Guard, and graduated on the Commandant’s List – putting her in the top 10 in her class of 107 students. She has more than 13 years of service with the South Dakota Army National Guard (SDARNG). Fagnan served as a bridge crewmember with the 200th Engineer Company and as a Service Member and Family Support Program Liaison with Joint Force Headquarters. She is also a combat veteran, having deployed with the 200th to Afghanistan from May 2011 – May 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She currently works as an engineer with the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources’ Drinking Water Program in Rapid City, where she serves as the statewide rule manager for the Safe Drinking Water Act’s Lead and Copper Rule, Capacity Development Coordinator, and conducted sanitary surveys at water systems. Fagnan is a native of Aberdeen and attended Northern State University, graduating magna cum laude with a double major in chemistry and environmental science. She also holds a master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Fagnan has also completed the John Maxwell Team Leadership, Coaching, Speaking, and Training Development Program and is a U.S. Army Level 2 Master Resilience Trainer. With those certifications, Fagnan started her company, Powerfully Equipped, LLC., to promote resiliency through speaking engagements.

CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS

We've received so many great session proposals but are still in search of a few more! We are specifically looking for sessions that address Campus Visit Programming, Student Ambassador/Tour Guides, Travel Reflections, Dual Credit, Financial Aid. If you have expertise to share in these areas or would be willing to facilitate a roundtable idea-sharing discussion on any of these topics, we want you! Submit your proposal by March 24 HERE.
